Northtech Systems, Inc. was founded in 1990 by its president, Tom Brandt. Northtech specializes in EDI and electronic commerce integration, as well as in general consulting and system development. Northtech has over 30 clients across the US and Canada. Northtech has completely integrated Electronic Data Interchange with in-house software for a number of these clients. This required analysis of the clients’ software and databases, the modification of existing software and the development of new software in order to integrate EDI, e-commerce and the World Wide Web. Northtech also develops new systems from scratch for clients requiring that kind of development. For example, Northtech developed a complete shipping system for the largest rug manufacturer in the US.

More recently, Northtech has worked with clients to develop websites that integrate with databases to deliver dynamic content. Some of these sites run on Windows servers using ASP and SQL Server and Access, others run on Apache servers using PHP and MySQL.

Northtech has experience with a number of computer platforms, including HP3000, HP9000 and other UNIX platforms, and personal computers; different operating systems, including MPE/iX, UNIX, Windows, Windows Server; databases including Access, SQL Server and MySQL, PC application languages including VB.NET; and web application platforms including ASP and Ruby on Rails.
